2026 - Week 17

Hello Beckton

Any crime is one crime too many but all in all, its not been a terrible week on the streets Beckton this week.

Attempted Burglary

28/04/2026 – Baseing Close - The Suspect, a 60ish year-old white male, has knocked on the door of an elderly woman stating that he is a carer. He has barged his way into the address and then left without taking anything.

Public Order

27/04/2026 – Tesco. Two young men became angry and abusive when they were denied the purchase of cigarettes without ID.

Theft From a Person

26/04/2026 – A Distraction theft at the ASDA cash machine. The Suspect removed her card from the machine whilst telling her that it wasn’t working. £250 was subsequently withdrawn from their account

26/04/2026 - Another Distraction Theft at the ASDA cash machine. £1600 was taken this time.

27/04/2026 – The Victim believes that her purse was taken from her handbag whilst shopping at Gallions Reach

Theft of Vehicle 

23/04/2026 – A black Kia Niro was reported stolen from Newark Knok. It is unknown how the vehicle was taken.

Good News

23/04/26 – Police stopped a car on the A13 that had a large amount of cash on him that he couldn’t account for. He also had no insurance. They subsequently searched his home address in Hackney and found 300 wraps of Class A drugs 

28/04/2026 – Three local robbers were arrested in Custom House. They are likely responsible for some of Beckton’s Robberies, hopefully CID will be able to link them to numerous other offences. We’ll have to wait and see if this arrest has a positive impact in Beckton.

General Advise

The ASDA has mall Security on site and your local Neighbourhood Team are based there. If you see something suspicious. Please alert Security or Police. We do Patrol ASDA and its surrounding streets daily.
